Do not become partners with those who do not believe, for what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship does light have with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14
This has been very heavy on my mind the past week or more and I am not fully sure why. I posted a verse on FaceBook about this but I think it needs more attention. I feel like God is leading me to tell someone about it or that one of my friends need to hear it. Now I woke up from sleeping and really knew I had to do something so I am blogging about it and posting it on all my social sites for that person or maybe even many people to hear it. If you have read this far please do stop cause for all I know you might be the one needing to read this.
I find this a very serious thing because it could… No, it will ruin what God has planned for you. Some people believe they can start a relationship and build up the unbeliever to believe in God and everything will turn out fine. This is wrong, even if you think your situation will be an exception. You can read it all through the Bible (particularly in the old testament) about how it wasn’t in Gods will for a Christian to fall in love with one who doesn’t believe in Christ as their personal Savor and ended in the Christian falling away from God’s will. Are you going to let Satan put the thoughts in your head that “they are the one” or “it will work out in the long run”? Well of course it will work out in the long run, yes, it will work just fine for Satan in the long run, just like he said/put the thoughts into your brain.
Let’s fast forward to marriage and kids. Do you really want to put your children through deciding between their parents and what they believe? They have enough things to focus on and that’s not something any child should have to be divided in. Both parents should be leading their kids with a one minded decision. It is so selfish to marry that guy or girl that “is the one” (but still doesn’t believe the same way as you and not focused on God) then put your kids through that because you felt good about him or her.
I know this sounds cheesy but stop……
If you sat down with Jesus and told him about this great guy or girl you plan to spend the rest of your life with would you feel at ease doing that?
What if Jesus asked you how you two are currently serving him and telling people about Christ’s love? And how you two plan to do that even better after marriage?
“love” isn’t worth the lost of the the best relationship that you can ever had with Christ.
